New - Received empty response from Moodle was created by Al
Hello everyone,
I'm trying to integrate Joomla 2.5.7 with moodle 2.0.10 with the soundingly awesome Joomdle 0.82 and was hoping somebody could help me.
I know this has been covered in previous threads but please bare with me, I'm new to this and have tried all possible solutions suggested in these threads but to no avail.
Firstly, Ive installed Joomla to a sub directory. www.domain.com/joomla . Then i've installed the moodle into a subdirectory www.domain.com/joomla/moodle20 .
Then following the wiki installation pages i've installed the component to joomla and the Joomdle plugin to Moodle.
Unfortunately the System check has failed on Joomdle Web Services and I have a red cross.
At this point I've gone back through the FAQs pages and wiki pages and forum threads and still nothing works.
I have been told this doesn't apply for joomla 2.5 but as I am unable to sync users or courses I assume this is why I cannot.
If anyone can help or point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it as I'm sure others needing clarity on this subject would too.
Thanks in advance,
Al

I'm also receiving Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in for Course Requests and Forums in the Joomla admin.
If anyone has a solution or an alternative to the set up I am currently using please let us know.
Does anyone have a working copy of Joomla 2.5 with Joomdle, If so which moodle version are you using?
Regards
Al

Delete the web service and user in moodle and follow again the moodle installation steps.
This error is usually a bad moodle setup.

Hello Fernando,
Thanks for the response.
I have deleted the webservice and user in moodle and gone through the installation steps again, but I still have the red cross and Recieved empty response from Moodle and the errors in Course Requests and Forums in Joomla.
I have however got the user registration for moodle and joomla synced with joomdle. However when a user logs in to either moodle or joomla they are only logged into the one and not both.
When setting up the user, what authentication method should I use? I have tried with Joomdle, Manual, MNet and No login but to no avail. Should I have tried by reinstalling moodle from the beginning?
Any help would really be appreciated.
Regards
Al

Firstly, I would worry about the course request or forums error messages at this point nor trying to sync, have single login, or any other functionality until you get rid of that red x.
Have you gone through the system health check in the wiki? There you will see it talks about the correct approach for entering the url addresses ie with http:// and including a / at the end. Also, what does your weberver address resolve to in the address bar? Is it with www or without www.
User authentication should be set to joomdle and manual. The others can be turned on and should not affect joomdle. If you are not going to use them, just disable them. Did you visit notifications after installing joomdle? After configuration joomdle in moodle? Do you have all the Moodle Joomdle services added to the user?

Thank you for the reply Chris.
I could not get your component working, and as good as the component sounds I have given up in trying to set it up and have chosen to use moodle purely on its own.
Wish I could afford the installation service you provide but as the project is in its early stages, I currently have little to no budget to use for research and testing.
Heres where I got to.
I went through the wiki with a giant magnifying glass trying to find something i've missed and the wiki became my home page.
My webserver address resolves to www. and I tried with the approach the wiki had suggested several times and had no luck.
I've tried alternative approaches suggested in forum threads posted here but still to no avail.
With the user authentication, I thought this was the case but I just wanted to check I had them set correctly. Yes I had all the Moodle Joomdle services add to the user.
Anyway,
For the project I'm working currently working on, I think Moodle will be just about sufficient on its own.
I appreciate your advice and I may well attempt this again soon.
Regards
Alec

Check the moodle URL in Joomla. It should be exactly the same that you have in moodle config.php wwwroot->http........
