The moodle URL in Joomla must be exactly the same you have in moodle config.php

Then there must be a problem somewhere else, although I don't know where.
One more thing to check: the site needs to be enabled (not offline) for this to work.

I had the same problem. However, for me it was not the URL address that caused the error, but the "Joomla! version" setting in Moodle Joomdle page: Home / ► Site administration / ► Plugins / ► Authentication / ► Joomdle

The default setting for this is "Joomla 1.5x". Once I changed it to Joomla .../2.5, the error was resolved and things are working fine now. :)
