HELP! "XML-RPC Error (0): Invalid user" on All Pages was created by Fluffy
Hello,
I've used my Joomdle-based website just fine with no trouble for over a year now, and for some odd reason on the first day that my classes started this semester (before I could even show the website to my kids), the site exploded with errors.
Since my classes literally just started (worst timing), I am in desperate need of getting this fixed. I am willing to pay someone to help me fix these issues asap, if you could just send me a private message.
(I am using Joomla 1.5, Moodle 2.0, and I WAS using Joomdle 0.5, but recently tried to upgrade to Joomdle 0.8 but to no avail).
The first problem I noticed this morning was when I tried to login to Joomla / Moodle as a moderator from the front end of the site. I received this error: "XML-RPC Error (0): Invalid user"
So I tried logging in as a student user from the front end (using an account that had been pre-created), and received the same error.
So I tried to login to the administrator section of Joomla in the backend. I was able to get into Joomla just fine. I checked the user accounts from Joomla and saw no errors.
Then I clicked on "Components > Joomdle" from the backend of Joomla and received this error again: "XML-RPC Error (0): Invalid user"
So I tried to login to the administrator section of Moodle separately. It wouldn't let me in, saying that it did not recognize my password. Thinking that I may have simply forgotten my password, I sent myself a new password using the password reset system. Once I was inside of Moodle, I tried to change the default password back to the one that I would remember, but upon doing so, I received another error (something about not being able to connect with the database). When I tried a second time, I received this error: "Invalid login, please try again" (this is with the same default password that it JUST sent me).
So I decided to seek help on the Joomdle forum, only to find that they are no longer servicing Joomdle 0.5. So I downloaded Joomdle 0.8 for Joomla 1.5 and tried to install it. It seemed to install just fine on the Joomla end. However, after replacing the joomla folder in the auth directory, and then going to Administration -> Plugins-> Web Services -> External Services --> Joomdle --> Functions in the Moodle backend, I received this error: "Coding error detected, it must be fixed by a programmer: Can not find file with external function implementation."
I am now at a loss for what to do. My classes were up and running just fine the day before, and I've used my Joomdle site with no gliches for over a year. I'm not sure what happened to suddenly cause this all to happen the morning that my new classes begin.
The only thing I did was try translating the site with Google Translate just prior to noticing the error. But I've done this before with no issues, and the errors showed up without Google Translate being on (even in difff=erent browsers).
Again, I am more than willing to pay someone to just handle this for me, since I'm very low on time and energy with the new semester starting.
Please PM me.
Thank you so much!

Quick Update: It looks like the password has actually changed correctly, despite the error. And it seems that I have installed the auth/joomdle folder correctly.
I am still receiving the "XML-RPC Error (0): Invalid user" error any time an existing user tries to login from the front end, however.

Hi.
It seems there might be a problem with the web services user in Moodle.
Please write to development@joomdle.com for professional services.
