PHP XML-RPC Prerequisites

My website is hosted by GoDaddy and the installation of Joomla (2.5.4) and Moodle (1.9.x) was handled by the GoDaddy tech staff.

Looking at the Joomla->System Information->PHP Information, it seems that the PHP XML-RPC libraries were not installed. How do I get these installed? Is this something that I should expect the folks at GoDaddy to do for me? I don't have much technical experience.

I'd appreciate any help you can offer.

Yes, they should do it if you have a VPS or a dedicated server.

If you have a shared hosting then move to another hosting company because you can't onstall PHP extensions and also moodle don't works well in GoDaddy even when they say no problems.

Fernando is correct. Godaddy shared hosting is not configured for webservices. The have also dropped a number of Moodle functions as part of their standard installation.

We recommend hostgator however any hosting company that supports xml-rpc (web services) should be fine. I have tried bluehost and a few others successfully too but found hostgator:
- provides the best support (response time, answering the 1st time correctly without escalation);
- strong technical capabilities and
- priced well

Also, IMO, it would be best to install Joomla and Moodle on your own as many of the fantastico scripts, etc. do not install all of moodle's features / scripts.
