Automated Booking System was created by Ross Innes
Joomla! 2.5.6
Joomdle 0.82
Joomdle /auth/joomdle Extension 2008080202
Joomdle /enrol/joomdle Extension 2010073102
Hi All,
I installed Edulab's Booking module docs.moodle.org/22/en/Booking_module into Moodle and have been mostly impressed with it's functionality so far and how it just works 'out-of-the-box'. I'm disappointed that (as far as I can tell) the only way for me to display any kind of Booking button is when the Booking Module is attached as a Course Activity. This doesn't work for me because I need to be able to use the Booking Module in the same way you could use the "Buy Course" functionality outside of Moodle. I was hoping I could replace the "Buy Course" buttons with "Book Here" buttons on the front-end (Joomla)
It's for that reason I continued my search for a booking system and found plenty of really good Joomla booking systems. The one that I like the most (and happens to be free) is the OSG Seminar and Course Manager .
But since Joomdle only really pulls information from Moodle and does not supply it, I'm reading the developer's wiki for both Joomdle and Moodle to see what I can do (web services etc)
Thanks in advance to anyone that can help!

Could you just use Hikashop and set the course to free?

I made a solution for a client based in Hikashop to sell courses and seminars.
The courses were moodle courses integrated with Joomdle. And the seminars were simple products with stock. The stock value was the seat availability for the seminar. When the product/seminar is out of stock, Hikashop sends a message to you and then you can unpublish the product and show a "Sold Out".

Hi Ron,
That was the very first suggestion I put forward. Unfortunately it was declined. One reason being that it does not align with future plans for the site and the other reason being is using an e-commerce system to fill this requirement is a bit redundant as the 98% of any e-commerce system will go to waste. The plugin's I've listed on the other hand fit within their planned scope.
Hope that answers your question

Fernando,
What a great way to go about it. Very intuitive.
I wish I could implement your idea but unfortunately deadline is tomorrow morning. So keep the idea's flowing

Just another feature for seminars selling from Hikashop.
You can add the start and end date to publish the product/seminar. It's very useful even for moodle courses.
Hope you get lucky with yourproject.
