Problems with Upgrade was created by Leisa Watkins
I am trying to upgrade my Joomdle installation and am getting a couple of errors.
1. After installation the name of the plugin is displaying as pluginname in the admin menu and when I open it up it looks like some of the language info is missing as it displays things like auth_joomla_url_desc. How do I fix that?
2. Under the Joomla Version number there isn't an option for 2.5. It seems like I read that one should use the setting 1.7 for a 2.5 installation, but can't find that info again. Is that the case?
3. When I save changes to the authentication I get the following error: record_exists() not available anymore.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times and keep getting the same error.

Make sure files are in the correct place and there is no additional folder inside folder: moodle/auth/joomdle

They are in the correct place. I am confused because the instructions say to "copy the uncompressed files to your moodle/auth/joomdle directory on your web server. (Depending on how you chose to copy the files, you may need to create the joomdle directory first)."
If I do that I end up with DB and lang folders in there. The other authorization plugins have the same folders so I am guessing that they are okay.
The files are in the auth folder.
My moodle installation is called education-center and not moodle. So they are in domain/education-center/auth/joomdle. Is that the problem? If so how do I fix it? If not - what else could it be.

I uninstalled again and tried it again. When I get to the following step
Then configure the plugin by clicking on the "Settings link" and enter your Joomla! server's domain name URL. This is the only setting that needs to be configured. Remember to add http:// in front of your URL.
I still get the following error when I save: record_exists() not available anymore
I cannot add functions to it and I still have the same issue with language.

record_exists() is from Moodle 1.9. Maybe you are uploading the wrong package?

I meant that maybe you installed the joomdle package for Moodle 1.9 instead of the one for Moodle 2.x
