Moodle cannot connect to Joomla was created by saq
Hi, this has been addressed in the past but I cannot find a solution.
am installing moodle and joomla:
www.website.com (joomla)
www.website.com/moodle
joomdle 1.0
moodle 2.8
joomla 3.3.6
I have followed everything for installation fully but I am getting following errors on joomdle system check:
last two lines are red errors
Moodle to Joomla HTTP connectivity Moodle cannot connect to Joomla
Joomdle Web Services Received empty response from Moodle
I have checked everything, moodle network is on, all URLs correct and read through all previous posts but I cannot work it out. Please help,
Thank you

If the last line is not green, it means Joomla cannot connect / find Moodle. Either the URL is different, Moodle is configured differently, or there is something blocking the connection like a firewall, etc.
The FAQ regarding this error is here www.joomdle.com/wiki/System_health_check
You can post your exact configuration if you like, otherwise, it will be very challenging to assist.

Thank you Chris.
Yes I have read the FAQ and struggling.
How do I check the firewall? I am using a standard Web hosting package from hosting.co.uk and I couldn't find out how a firewall setting is modified.
Also what configuration details will you need to assist and I will post them on the message board
Thank you so much
Saqib!

It is not something that you are likely to be able to configure and would require the hosting company. That said, it may not be firewall it could be many other network related items including xmlrpc, file-get-content depending upon your configuration. As said, it may also be the url definitions, moodle config file. Basically that message is telling you that Joomla cannot find / cannot connect to Moodle.
At the superficial level, the configuration details we would start with is the url settings for both Joomla and Moodle (ie exactly as they are typed). If you are concerned with displaying them publicly / in the open, you can send them to development@joomdle.com

"Received empty response from Moodle" is usually caused by connection issue, and not something wrong in configuration: firewall, DNS problems, connection issues from the server to itself, etc.
