[Closed] Login redirection from joomla to moodle

Hello,

I would like to have a login redirection feature in Joomdle. The feature should contain following functionality:

User fills the login form in joomla and redirect to moodle in a new window.

I was thinking about this yesterday and thought that it could make for a more general plugin: one that just opens a new window when the user logs in,

I created the openwindow plugin that does just that. In configuration, you have 2 options:
- URL for new window: here we put moodle url
- Delay: time in seconds before loading the new window. Here we put '1', as that is enough.

Delay is needed because you may need to wait for something to be set up first (like in our case, it needs time to complete moodle authentication before loading the page)

So, the requirement when configuring is that you put the joomdlehooks plugin before the openwindow one in execution order.

Please test and share your comments.

Sorry, I explained it bad: you need to put the openwindow plugin BEFORE the joomdlehooks plugin (that is needed by the way joomdlehooks works).

oop! i haven't read the post correctly. what i was meaning to request was something different... and i had to install the module to find that out :blush:

its a nice module, altho i have no use for it at the moment i can see how it can be nice to open system notices in moodle and so on.

I uploaded the plugin, enabled and configured it. But It did not do what I expected.

Regarding login redirection feature I mean:

If a user opens joomla.com/moodle/login.php , he will be redirected to alternate login url ( ie. joomla.com/login.html ). And after filling up the login form, the user should be redirected to joomla.com/moodle/index.php as logged in user.

If openwindow plugin is working the same, then please forgive me and take pain to let me know how it works.

Shyam: what you request is not possible at the moment, as joomdle cannot redirect you to moodle after logging.

Will think about it for future releases. So you need that:
- If user goes to Moodle to login, he is redirected to joomla login, and after logged, redirected to moodle
- If user goes to Joomla to login, he sould stay in joomla after loggin in.

Suggestion:
Include in Joomlde the parameters to the new window (size, etc.). Example: if the course in Moodle is a video, you can put the size of the video.

Solved by the possibility of logging directly from Moodle.
